Address from the General Overseer on Glory House’s 12th Anniversary

Address by The General Overseer of The Gospel Faith Mission International (GOFAMINT) Pastor (Dr) Elijah Oludele Abina at the 12th Anniversary of Glory House Dallas, TX, from April 25-27, 2024

Dearly Beloved,

As I stand before you today on this momentous occasion of this 12th anniversary of The Gospel Faith Mission International (GOFAMINT), Glory House here in Dallas, my heart is filled with joy and gratitude to the Almighty God for the testimonies of His power in this church.

Twelve years ago, Glory House started just like a tiny seed of hope planted in the fertile soil of this community. But through your dedication and hard work, that seed has grown into a flourishing tree, providing shade, shelter, and sustenance to all who seek spiritual nourishment.

Reflecting on the past twelve years, we cannot help but marvel at the countless blessings and miracles gracing this congregation. We have witnessed lives transformed, hearts healed, and spirits renewed. We have also seen the weary found rest, the lost found direction, and the broken found healing. So, for me, this is not just an occasion to mark the passage of time but, more importantly, a gathering to reminisce over the incredible power of God in the journey of faith and perseverance that brought us to where we are today.

Thank God for choosing the theme of your celebration, “Jubilee.” It is a rich addition to the meaning of this event. As you know, the word “Jubilee” carries a profound sense of celebration, liberation, and restoration. It gives the opportunity for a new beginning in every generation, allowing people caught in the poverty trap to be free, slaves to be liberated, debts to be canceled, and land to be restored to its original owners. In that same vein, I will enjoin us to use this occasion to extend forgiveness and reconciliation to those around us. Let us also seek unity and harmony, putting aside our differences and embracing our common spiritual heritage as children of God. Let us continue to be a beacon of light and hope in our community by extending God’s love and compassion to all those around us.

As we go forth from here, let us reaffirm our commitment to this church’s mission and core values that have guided us thus far.

In closing, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to each of you who has been a part of this journey, whether you joined us at the beginning or have recently become a member of our church family.

I believe that in the spirit of Jubilee, this celebration will usher in the time when God will arise and have compassion on you. This will be the appointed time when God will show favor to you, according to your chosen text, Psalms 102:13.

Finally, I want you to join me in lifting your voices in songs of praise and thanksgiving to the Almighty God, for indeed, this is a time of Jubilee — a time of celebration, liberation, and restoration.

I can see everything turning around
Turning around, turning around
In my favor

Thank you, and God bless.
